So the honest question is not whether you can get here. It is whether it is worth leaving the neighbourhood at all when there are chiropractors on Colfax. Fair. The Edgewater patients who come to us are mostly people who tried the nearest option first and wanted something more than a two minute adjustment, or who were in a crash and needed the paperwork handled properly. If you just want a quick crack and a punch card, the closer option is genuinely fine.

Why Edgewater patients come to Wheat Ridge

Edgewater is small enough that everyone has an opinion about every business in it. The patients who come to us from four blocks away tend to be looking for one of four things.

One set of hands, several tools

Adjustment, soft tissue work, dry needling and cupping happen in the same visit with the same provider, rather than being split across three appointments or referred out. See what that looks like.

No contracts, no forced care plans

You will not be asked to prepay for six months before anyone has touched your back. Care runs as long as it is doing something and stops when it is not.

Twenty years, and a teaching background

Dr. Andrew Allen trained at Palmer College of Chiropractic after a kinesiology and exercise science background, and spent years teaching human anatomy and physiology. You will get the actual explanation. More about Dr. Allen.

Accident care that holds up on paper

If your injury came from a crash, the notes matter as much as the treatment. We document properly and coordinate with your attorney when there is one. Car accident injury care.

What walks in the door from Edgewater

Geography shapes injuries. The Edgewater patients we see cluster into a handful of familiar patterns.

  • The Sloan’s Lake loop. Two and a half miles of flat, hard path is a lot of identical footstrikes. It shows up as knee pain, hip pain and plantar fasciitis, almost always after a jump in weekly mileage rather than one bad step.
  • Century-old bungalows. Edgewater’s housing stock is small, old and lovingly renovated by hand. Overhead work, crawl spaces and a weekend of tile are a reliable route to upper back tightness and the disc that finally objects.
  • Standing shifts on 25th. The Public Market, the breweries and the restaurants along 25th mean hours on hard floors, which is how lower back pain and sciatica usually starts.
  • The Sheridan and Colfax commute. Short in miles, long in minutes. Stop-start driving plus a desk day produces neck pain and the headaches that arrive mid-afternoon.
  • Jefferson Jr/Sr High athletes. The school is four blocks from us. In-season muscle strains and back complaints are the most common thing we see from students, and Athlete care is built for exactly that.
  • Riding the gulch trails downtown. The Lakewood and Dry Gulch paths make bike commuting easy, and a bar-height that is slightly wrong for thirty minutes a day turns into shoulder pain and neck tightness.
  • Small lots, big projects. Raised beds, retaining walls and the annual battle with a mature tree. Spring arrives and so do the backs.

After a car accident in Edgewater

Sheridan Boulevard, West Colfax, W 20th Avenue and Harlan Street carry far more traffic than a city this size would suggest, and they produce most of the crash patients we see from Edgewater. If you have been in one, two things are worth knowing.

Feeling fine is not the same as being fine. Soft tissue injuries frequently take twenty four to seventy two hours to declare themselves, and adrenaline at the scene hides a great deal. Getting assessed early creates a baseline, which matters clinically and matters again later if there is a claim.

The paperwork is part of the treatment. Injury care that is not documented properly is worth less to you at every stage. We keep records built for that, and we coordinate with your attorney when you have one. If you do not, that is fine too. You do not need a referral and you do not need a lawyer to be seen.
